Installing Moonbot on Windows

As Moonbot is a portable application, you must extract it to a separate folder on your computer before running it for the first time. It is not recommended to place the terminal in Windows system or temporary directories, such as Windows, Program Files, Users, Temp, as well as in the folders Downloads and Desktop. The best option is to create a separate folder, for example C:\Moonbot. You should avoid using Cyrillic characters and spaces in file paths. Placing the terminal in unsuitable folders may result in restrictions imposed by the operating system and cause Moonbot to malfunction.

Installing the Moonbot terminal requires no special skills and takes just a few minutes. The terminal is a portable application and is not installed on your system, so all you need to do is download it, unzip it and run it for the first time.

Where can I download the terminal?

It is recommended that you download the latest version of the Moonbot terminal only from the project’s official website. This ensures that you receive the latest version of the terminal and avoid security and compatibility issues.

• Demo version (PRO ID500) *Quick start
  This version is designed to familiarise you with the terminal’s features. You download an archive containing the pre-configured Moonbot PRO terminal, which runs in emulation mode. In demo mode, no real orders are placed on the exchange and no real deposit is used. This option is useful if you wish to explore the terminal’s interface and functionality without risking any funds.

• Clean version (Free and PRO)
  This option is an archive containing the latest clean FREE version of the Moonbot terminal. Once you have downloaded and extracted the file, you can connect the terminal to your exchange account yourself using API keys and start trading with your own funds. If necessary, you can activate the paid PRO version at a later date or continue using the FREE version.

Which version you choose depends on your needs: the demo version is suitable for getting to know the platform, whilst the full version of Moonbot is best for starting to trade for real. Once downloaded, the platform usually comes as an archive containing the programme files.

Installing the Moonbot terminal

To install the terminal:

1. Download the archive containing the Moonbot terminal to your computer

2. Create a separate folder for the terminal, for example C:\Moonbot

3. Please extract all the files from the archive into this folder.

⚠️ It is important that the folder containing the terminal is not located in Windows system or temporary directories, and also does not contain Cyrillic characters or spaces in the file paths. This is necessary to ensure that settings are saved correctly and that the terminal runs smoothly.

Once unpacked, the terminal is ready to run — no further installation steps are required.

First launch of the terminal

To launch the terminal, open the folder containing the extracted MoonBot terminal files and run the main executable file, MoonBot.exe, as an administrator.

When you launch the terminal for the first time, it may ask for permission to access the network — you must grant this permission, as Moonbot connects to exchanges via the internet.

In addition, in some cases, the SmartScreen filter in Microsoft Defender may be triggered, displaying a warning stating that “the launch of an unrecognised application that could put your computer at risk has been prevented”.

As our company has obtained a corporate certificate for the Moonbot terminal, please ensure that the warning states "Application: MoonBot.exe" and "Publisher: KY, Grand Cayman, George Town, Nova Moonbot Technologies". Then click the "Run anyway" button.

Once the launch is complete, you will see the terminal’s main window. At this stage, the terminal is not yet connected to the exchange and is not ready for trading — the next step will be to configure and connect to the exchange using API keys, which we will cover in the next subsection.
