This stage is a logical progression from working with alerts. While alerts were previously used only for notifications and analysis, automated trading enables the terminal to execute operations automatically. In this section, we will cover the basic principles of simple automated trading for beginners, demonstrating how to use automation responsibly while managing risks. ### What is Autotrading in Moonbot? Automated trading on Moonbot (a cryptocurrency trading terminal) is a mode of operation in which trading activities are carried out automatically based on pre-configured strategies. Algorithmic trading using these strategies enables the platform to monitor the market independently and, when specified conditions are met, to open and close trades without user intervention. The main difference is that, for automated trading, the strategy settings include the option to open trades automatically. This enables the trading platform not only to identify suitable market conditions, but also to execute trades independently as part of algorithmic trading. The **Strategies** window is the central control center for automation in Moonbot. It is here that the user determines which strategies are running, which are on hold, and in which mode – live or training – they are being used. Once you have configured an automated trading strategy, you must ensure that it is active. To do this, tick the box next to the relevant strategy in the list of strategies. A tick indicates that the strategy is authorized to run and can participate in the terminal’s operations. To start automated trading, use the **Start Checked** button located in the **Strategies** window. When this button is clicked, the trading platform begins to execute all selected strategies in accordance with their settings. If a strategy includes automated cryptocurrency trading, the terminal will automatically open and close trades when the specified conditions are met. You can stop automated trading in the same **Strategies** window. To do this, you need to uncheck the box next to the active strategy or click the **Stop** button, if this is available in the interface.
