Creating Strategies

You can create and configure your own strategies in the Strategies window, or download example ready-made strategies from our website using the following link: 🔗 https://api.moonbot.eu/files/data.zip — the data.zip archive contains example strategies for the spot market on Binance. These are intended for initial familiarization with the terminal’s capabilities and strategy settings.

After downloading, unzip the archive and copy the data folder into the root directory of the Moonbot terminal, replacing the existing files.

⚠️ Attention! This action must be performed while the terminal is turned off. This procedure will completely replace all previously created strategies. If you already have your own strategies in the terminal, make sure to back up your current data folder.

Additionally, on this page 🔗 https://moonbot.eu/en/moonbot-pro/download you can download a demo version of a fully configured Moonbot PRO terminal with basic strategies and connected Binance Futures and MoonScalper modules. The demo version works in emulator mode — no real orders are placed on the exchange. This version is linked to our account and does not require connection to your own exchange account.

⚠️ Important! Strategies in the Moonbot terminal allow flexible configuration of detection algorithms, order placement, and position closing for both manual and automated trading. The Moonbot terminal does not validate the logical correctness of the values you input and will operate strictly according to your settings. You are fully responsible for those settings.

Before using strategies with real funds, make sure you completely understand how they function. We recommend testing strategies in EMULATION mode first. However, note that this mode does not precisely simulate the behavior of real orders on the exchange — due to network latency, order queue processing on the exchange, and API load, actual performance may differ.

We do not provide technical support for the creation or debugging of your strategies. Strategies are user-defined tools and should be customized by you to match your trading goals and risk management preferences.

If you feel that your strategy is not working as expected, please perform your own diagnostics, for example:

  1. Go to terminal settings: Settings → Advanced → System

  2. Enable the checkbox Extended Debug Mode

  3. Open the chart of the coin you are analyzing. At the top, you’ll see lines with parameters that affect detections

  4. Compare your configured parameters with the values displayed on the chart.

To determine why a strategy is not triggering, make sure of the following: the Start button in the main terminal window is enabled, the strategy is activated (the "active lightbulb" icon is lit), the Mode: Signals button is pressed, the Autodetect: ON button is enabled. Also, check whether the filter conditions of the strategy are currently met. To do this, press the Funnel button (Filters on Charts) in the Moonbot main window and open the chart of any coin — in the top-left corner of the chart, you’ll see a list of strategies and filter parameters currently preventing it from triggering. If the filter settings are correct, simply wait for the right conditions. If the parameters were misconfigured, adjust them accordingly on the Filters tab of the strategy settings.

When creating strategies, refer to the information provided in this manual, as well as our training videos on the official YouTube channel. You can find the link on the Contacts page of our website: 🔗 https://moonbot.eu/en/about.
