Features of SHORT Strategy Settings

  1. In all strategies except MoonShot, MoonStrike, and Liquidations, the detection conditions do not reverse when the short mode (Short) is enabled.
This means that if, for example, in a DropsDetections strategy, the Short=YES option is enabled on the Buy conditions tab, the terminal will place a short (sell) order when the price drops and the detector is triggered, but the detection logic itself will remain the same as for long trades.

  2. When using short orders, you do not need to modify negative values in the parameters on the Stops tab (such as stop-losses and trailings) or other tabs — the terminal will automatically reverse them.

  3. The BV_SV ratio (buy volume to sell volume), used on the Filters and Stops tabs, will also be automatically reversed — in short strategies, the terminal will instead evaluate the SV_BV ratio (sell volume to buy volume).

  4. When trading short on the futures market, keep in mind that the positions of Sell and Stop orders are calculated from the point of entry. In short trades, the entry point is the exit of the position (i.e., when it is bought back). This may lead to confusion when setting a percentage stop: in long positions, the stop is calculated from the entry price, while in short positions — from the exit price (the buyback price). The longer the stop, the greater the discrepancy between expected and actual results.

Example: If the asset price is 100 and a stop of -50% is set, the stop will not be placed at 150 (as it would be in a long trade), but at 200. This is because the terminal calculates from which point the movement should begin toward 100 by 50%. In this case, the actual loss on the trade upon triggering this stop will be -100%. The same logic applies to take-profit: if a value of +50% is set, the take-profit will be placed at 66.6, because an increase from 66.6 to 100 is exactly 50%.

⚠️ Important! When configuring strategies, be sure to account for the selected leverage on the coin, as all percentage values will effectively be multiplied by this leverage. It is strongly recommended to first test your settings with small orders to verify that the strategy functions correctly.
